I have a 1997 F150 with a 4.6 motor & 5 speed manual trans. w/4wh drive.
I'm trying to find out if 5 speed manual trans.from a 1998 F150 with a 4.2 motor & 4 wh drive will fit my truck.

I am the owner of a 97' f150 4.2l v6 with 5 speed. I'm looking to replace the tranny in. I was just searching the transmission threads and saw your reply about the old 300 trannys fitting on the 4.2l. Do you know if the old 4-speed w/ granny transmissions will fit my 4.2l, sorry i don't know the correct part number for those old transmissions but im sure you know which one im talking about. If it will fit will on the motor will the shifter and drive shaft still line up.
