Isolator

Does anyone know if its safe or ok to remove an isolator??? It was supposed to prevent vibration, but it is causing vibration because the isolator is destroyed. My mechanic tells me it's a $195 part from Ford and really serves no purpose. Any thoughts guys??? thanks!

I don't know anything about them but I posted so your thread would come back up and maybe someone will respond.

The isolator is designed to change the resonance frequency of whatever it is attached to. This isolates vibrations and prevents them from being felt by the occupant. Depending on what your isolator is attached to, it is probably not necessary as long as you can live with the vibration. Good Luck!
