What is this sensor

Hey guys i havent realy posted on here a bunch but i figured if any1 can help me itl be you all i was an idiot at a party i was at last night and hooked up to a superduty that yanked me backwards on the road in 4 low well in doing that i snapped my front drive shaft and when it broke it came around and smashed a black sensor or housing on the side of my transmission well the truck ran fine other than the loud bang because of the drive shaft coming around a smacking the traction bars so i shut it off in the field. and now it wont start at all its almost like the computer isnt telling the truck its in drive and the hole shifter colomn fells wierd.. could this all be because of that black plastic sensor or housing thing?? and what is that????
thanks for any help in advance

Tranny range sensor? Also the transfer case won't shift out of Low range unless the tranny is in Neutral, so if the computer thinks your in drive it won't start or shift out of Low.

No offence, but how much did you have to drink fo ya to think ya could drag a superduty?

Sounds like the MLP (Manual Lever Position, also known as a range sensor).

Oh wow! Reminds me of when I was young and drank a LOT. Used to chase armadilios through the woods (in my VW Bug). Or when I tried out the whole "its a bug, it'll float" thing........

It was great to be young and dumb at one time.

BTW, not bashing you, the post just made me remember younger days.

They also catch fire when you have too many people in the back seat. AND Everclear does NOT work when trying to put the fire out.

Yep, after that incident I put it in a Marine case with a cover. But it was funny when the girl sitting there had flames start to lick up between her legs, she had a hot Pu**y in more than one way.
