Should I get a new torque converter

Sorry, pre-97 but wanted to get input from tranny guys watching this list.

I am about to get my rebuilt 351W into my 82 bronco and I need advice on if I should get a different torque converter for my C6.

The one I have is there is stock and in great shape, only about 40k miles - would it be worth my time / money to get a different one what will help me get more torque and help turn 33's with stock 3.00 gears? Would I need to get one that stalls higher or lower than stock? I have read mixed reviews about both on the web recently and am not too sure which to consider.

I would like help getting off the line, as it is pretty doggy right now (that and the fact it has a worn out 302 - hopefully the 351W will help in that regard).

Thank for any input you all have.

I would run that converter for a while the 5.0 had a high stall unit the 351 may or may not. You will get performance gain by using the 5.0 converter on a 351.
