Question Fluid Compatability???

Does anyone know if Dextron III is compatable with Mercon V?? I have a 99 F-150 with a 4R70W tranny and I was going to use the trans flusher at the GM garage where I work, but we only have Dextron III in our bulk tank and the machine can only be filled from the bulk tank. Just wondering before I screw things up!!!

I thought so. A parts guy at my local Ford dealer told me that Dextron III was the same as Mercon V, but I could not find anything in black and white to prove it. Thanks for the info.

Double-check anything a Dealership employee tells you. They sell Motorcraft Mercon/Dexron III; don't confuse this with Mercon V.
