OD out?

I own a 1997 Ford F150 4x4 extended cab. A few days ago I was getting on the interstate and the truck shifted into nuetral instead of overdrive. I had this same problem one year ago and all I had to do was shut the truck off for a while. This time I am not that lucky. Its been a week and I still do not have overdrive.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Rob

The answer is not a good one. I had the same thing happen about a year and a half ago and found out it was a servo deep inside the transmission. To fix requires a breakdown and reassembly. I opted for a complete rebuild since the labor was about the same.
Good luck. At least it didn't leave me stranded, just running in 3rd gear until I could arrange for the transmission rebuild.
