Shift Kit????

Shift Kit????

Just wanted to know the pros and cons of installing a shift kit. I hear its a simple install but I havent heard much about the benifits, especcialy on a 4x4.

If you get a tuner, you can modify shift pressures just like a shift kit. Except you can do it in 3 minutes without getting dirty and you can drive it for 15 minutes and stop and fine tune it some more. I don't know how much a shift kit costs but I bet it's at least $400 if you pay a shop to do it. On these new computer controlled trannies the old style shift kits are obsolete. The tuner rocks!

it's better for your trans if you use a shift kit versus a tuner from what hear.

a shift kit is better for your tranny, instead of using a tuner to increas the line pressure the shift kit uses stiffer, weaker springs to controle the shift and increases the oil passage holes for more flow, a shifty kit is defenitly the better way to go
