4R100 Problems

I have a '99 SD 4x4 5.4L V8 and a 4R100 trans. I have about 120,000 miles on the truck but the trans. was replaced at about 75,000 miles. The new trans. started leaking at about 95,000 miles and a buddy of mine that owns a shop said it was the front pump seal. He replaced it for me and the leaking stoped but started again at about 110,000 miles. The leak is coming from the bell-housing. What the hell is the problem now?

Sounds like you have one of those factory converters with about a mile and 1/4 runout. Have the converter runout checked, replace the pump seal and the bushing. Might want to leak test the converter first. I have seen a few cases of leaky studs. Don't forget to check the drain plug before you even remove it. If it has a drain plug in the converter that is.
ford allowed some very high tolerances on the stock converters. i have seen this problem quite a few times.
