Angry Fluid leak.

I have a 2001 Super Crew which has developed a trans fluid leak which seems to be coming from the center of the yoke (view blocked by universal joint) off the rear of the transmission.
I had the truck to a trans shop thinking it was the rear seal. The guy at the shop said the seal was bone dry but the leak seeed to be coming from the yoke.
My ?s Is there a seal inside the yoke that could have gone bad?
Could the yoke be cracked and the fluid seaping out of said crack?
How hard would it be to change the yoke, whats all involved and could a back yard mechanic handle such a task.
Any help would be most appreciated. I'm using up alot of oil dry on my driveway.

Dirtydog That does sound like the problem I'm having, minus any vibration.
How do you force pack the seal?
If I was to remove the yoke what all is involved? Will I screw up the seal on the tranny removing the yoke?
Is there just a single nut on a splinned shaft that holds the yoke on?
I had asked the Ford dealer here in Indian PA about a seal in the yoke and the parts counter guy said he could not find a seal part in the yoke. All he could recomend was $180. for a new yoke. I would buy a new yoke if I need to but Christmas is coming and the kids need new shoe to walk in that snow (uphill both ways) to school.
Again any info will help.

I've got a leak now too in my '99 at 38000 miles. I've noticed a small vibe for a little while and the drive shaft has a very slight movement on the trans end. I changed the trans fluid in August.

Any suggestions?

The rear bushing is the problem guys. You can install new seal after new seal and the leak will never go away until you change the bushing. Installing a line from the line pressure port to the rear bushing lubricates the bushing and prevents faliures.
