i was wanting to know how to fix the accumulator spring in my 94 f150, with a 5.0. 2wd. is it easy to get to, or is it a "live with it" thing

accumulator

i dont know which accumulator it is, but it shifts hard from 1-2, but not EXTREMELY hard, just a little more of a jerk without any warning. in other gears, you can feel a "warning" right before it shifts. on this one, it just shifts without hesitation, thus causing a rough shift.

The 1-2 accumulator is easy to get to. You need a pair of snap ring pliers to get it out. All you have to do is drop the pan and that accumulator is on the drivers side front of the transmission. I highly recommend you install 2 new springs and the updated accumulator from ford. Don't forget the accumulator cap either.

The parts will cost you 30-40 dollars not counting a filter and fluid. If you're asking about labor I'm not sure I would imagine about 1 to 1.5 hrs
There are 2 springs in the accumulator. One on top of the piston and one on the bottom of it.
