put 24" rims should I re-gear to 4:10's

I have recently put 24's on my truck and it feels a little sluggish..I have the power programmer and changed tire size and changed the shift points. Should I re-gear to 4"10's to create a more stock feel when I hit the gas...Senior members fill in please....

you can go to richmondgear dot com and they have a street performance calculator that you can estimate gear ratios compared to tire height.
The taller the tire the smaller your ratio number gets..
Taller tires also affect braking power,,, I love to see all the toyota pickups with huge tall mud tires and the little stock rotors,, you have to know that their braking performance has been adversly affected.

Lets see how they look

Calculate the old and new tire HEIGHTs and plug them into this calculator. Figure your rpms with your original tire height and gear ratio, then plug in new ratios with your new tire height until you find one that provides similar rpms. A gear change is a good time to also increase performance with a quicker gear. You can choose a gear that will compensate for the tires and add performance.

i'd say that calculator is probably for puttin on bigger tires rather than bigger wheels.havin wheels that big gives you alot more rolling mass.so yeah i'd say go with atleast 3.73's if not 4.10's

He installed 305/35/24's on his truck. This is an larger overall height which is EXACTLY what the calculator is for and how the ratio is changed.
