Redline ATF

What's the difference between Redline MTL and MT-90? They both seem to have the exact same description other than the weight.

Also, is it safe to use Redline for the rear axle? Apparently you can use the same fluid for transmission or axle. The dealer quoted me ~$30/quart for Motorcraft full synthetic. There has to be some difference between Redline and Motorcraft which would justify the price difference.

To quote Redline; Red Line MTL may be used in transmissions which recommend 70W, 75W, 80W, or 85W GL-4 gear oils, or SAE 30 or 5W/10W30 motor oils. If a 90W GL-4 or SAE 40, 10W40, or 15W40 is required, MT-90 may be used.

In the rear axle, I would use the viscosity that the manual recommends, 75W140 oil.
Don't use ATF in the rear.
