ok guys Ive been trying to hunt down a speedometer problem, to start off with the dash speedo works fine, I tested the cable and its turning and working when I turn it by hand... Whe pulling the cable out of the trannie housing it gave a lot of resistance... when going back in it was smooth... my question is, is there anyway that the cable could have jammed and caused it not to turn... or is there a problem in the trannie...? is it common for this to happen? I cant test it yet cuz I have the fuel tanks off but... O and its a '86 F150 302 v8 EFI Manual 4speed trannie...Thanks guys for any help

 

Well guys got it running, changed my temp sensor and dam it runs like a dream... anyway speedo still isnt working... gonna try jacking up wheels and turning em while I look and see if the gear in the transmission is actually turning... Any suggestions about what to look for? Thanks guys

 

Well guys got her fixed, turns out it was the actual speedometer, went down to junkyard picked up another one, threw it in and Im back in business, I also decreased about 40k in mileage on the od.
