OD light blinking, please help

Hello all, i have a '98 4X4 Expedition, the problem is that the OD light blinks after driving a while, the tranny works fine for a while but after the light start blinking it get stuck when trying to shift from 1st to second and if i lower the RPM then it shifts to 2, this does not happens every time just in some cases when i get to a light, does any one had the same problem? anyone have any ideas? someone told me that it is very expensive to change the tranny(about 2500 dlls), i hope i don't have to do that, i hope that this is a solenoid or the torque converter or something not expensive as rebuilding the tranny.

Please any comment would be helpfull.

Thanks.

Right now you have a transmission sensor that has gone bad.
The part will be about $60 and maybe $60 to $80 for labor.

If you don't take care of it, you can post again about the $2500 Transmission.

blinking tranny od light

My od light was blinking , so I took it to a tranny shop, they
put a code reader on it.

It was a speed senor gear, they said ford sensor gear
fit is not that good and it would fault on occasion. they said if my tranny started to shift hard it was going in to protection mode
and I should get the gear changed.

They also mentioned that a blinking tranny light could mean
a bad sensor, low tranny fluid pressure, low fluid, clogged filter or if
the truck shuttered going into od the torque coverter was going.

goodluck
