WTF is going on

My dad has a 1991 F-150 with the 5.8 and E40D tranny.
About a month ago it started shifting rough between 1-2 and 3-OD. Then at times going a steady 65 it would shift out of od and stall out, check engine light on. We got it home, then when you put it in gear it would die. We towed it to Ford dealer (closes place) They changed the TPS, MAP sensor, and replace the processor. Got it back and running fine.
About two weeks ago it started shifting rough again, and sometimes it shifts out of od to 3 and stays there for a few sec. and back to od (while going a steady 65) no engine light.
Took it back to ford today. For starters their tranmission tec. left so they wouldn't even look at it. the Service manager said if no lights come on then its something in the tranny is screwed.
So i took it to the tranny shop where the tranmission was rebuilt about two years ago. They hooked it up to their computer
44 - thermactor air system
13 - can't control rpm
34 - EGR closed
67 - PNP or clutch switch (range sensor) some call it neutral safety switch

they said change the neutral safety switch and that sould take care of it.

does this sound right???
also I was at a red light and it just died on me

Thanks for the help
Travis

None of the codes posted are likely to directly cause transmission performance problems.

With the exception of the 67 code, all the others will affect drivability and engine performance, including rough running and stalling.

The 67 code must be interpreted in the correct context, whether a continuous code, a KOEO code, or a KOER code.

Thanks projectSH089
What does it mean that the code must be interpreted in the correct contact? Continuous code, KOEO, or KOER code?

Do you think the range sensor will cause the rough shifting and the unneccessory down shifts?

thanks
