What is that little narrow hole on the bottom of my 5 speed manual transmission for? My truck is a 2001. It is right between the oilpan and the tranny itself, and the two are separated by a metal gasket of some sort. I have something leaking there. I got a little on my finger an smelled of it, thinking it was oil. But it had no smell. So I thought it was a mixture water and dirt or something. That leads me to think that this is a water drain hole for the tranny or something. What is it for? Does anyone know?
