******* My Clutch
******* My Clutch
Hello all, im just wondering how all of your clutches are behavinfg, as when they start to take hold of the road. And what kinda clutches would u guys recommend? I want a HD one to handle the stress of the larger tires i will be getting, and how much labor cost am i lookin into?
Powerdome,
My clutch is starting to slip pretty badly at 69,000. I have had several people including Crash recommend the Centerforce dual friction set, but it is expensive. So far everywhere I've looked it is over $500.00. I have seen factory replacements at the website www.fordpartsonline.com for roughly $85.00 dollars apiece for the pressure plate and disk. That is for a 1998 5 speed, which I'm guessing is the same as yours. I normally put mine in myself so I am not sure about labor, I would guess $200.00-300.00. Don't forget to get the throwout bearing replaced while your in there, I've seen them from $15.00-50.00 depending on who you buy it from. Good luck.
