Pros and Cons of a Transgo Shift Kit

Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about upgrading my tranny function. I just ordered a active tranny cooler from Mike, and am now interested in a shift kit. Do teh benifits outweight the risks of higher line pressure? I am already running one of Mike's chips, too, so would I have to re-burn?

Just in need of some of your experiences,

Thanks!

A shift kit will not increase line pressure, it just mkaes the transmission flow more fluid (Volume) by enlarging holes. It is safe for your tranny, and you wont need a reburn.

Thanks for the info. What's envolved with putting one of these in?
As you can see below, I already have them on my summer list of things to do!
Yupee!!

You drain all the fluid, drop the pan, take out the filter, unhooked the wiring harness, like 4 plufs or so, unbolt the valve body, I did all the outside ones, and then worked on the inside leaving the center one, then loosened it slowly and would rock the vb back and forth, to get some of the fluid it, then drop it and the fluid poures out like a waterfall. Then follow the instructions on drilling the holes and changing the spring and stuff, then just reinstall it. Get an inch-lbs torque wrench, it takes all the guess owrk out of installign the vb, I didnt do this at first, and I regretted it, so just go any buy one, it makes the isntall 100 times easier.

Opps, didn't think to ask about my drivetrain warrenty! You mentioned drilling. I'll be under warrenty for the next 3 years (extended warrenty), so I will probably wait until that expires before I start messing with the internals!

RIGHT ON!:o
