Clunk when braking only in Overdrive
Help!! Anyone know what causes this?
I have a very noticeable single "clunk" noise in the front of my 99 F-150 5.4L 4x4 when coming to a complete stop in Overdrive. It seems like once I slow down to stop around 10 MPH the truck makes a single "CLUNK" which I can feel.
It only does it when I am in Overdrive. If I take the truck out of OD before coming to a complete stop, NO CLUNK!
Truck has 87,000 miles on it.
At first, I thought a bad rotor or something in the brake system. But then I figured out it only does it when in OD. Anyone have any ideas? If so, let's hear 'em!
Thanks,
Silver99
