Need some info

I am going to order a TransGo shift kit for my 95 F-150 w/ 4R70W (AODE). Is it worth changing the valves to the Sonnax valves, and is it hard to change them? Also I see that many people with the 4R100 (E4OD) change there pans to the deeper 4x4 pans, are there any aftermarket pans for the 4R70W that comes with a drain plug in it and maybe hold more fluid, that dont cost a fortune? Thanks for the help.

pans

Beastie,

Look at www.summitracing.com , they have a chrome ford motorsport pan for about $40. I don't know if it holds anymore fluid though, but it does have a drain plug.

I know what you mean on the cost thing. Every pan I've seen has been between $150-$200. I think on the next fluid change, I'm just going to put in one of the drain plug kits for $8 and forget it.

Good Luck,

John

Thats what I did today, I just bought the drain plug B&M, and I am going to install it in the pan I already have.

When you install the shift kit, do you actually drill into the valve body itself, or just the seperator plate that comes with the kit?

Beastie,

I did the PA valve body. Just unbolted the old one and boleted in the new one. I think in the transgo kit you do have to drill into the body itself, but I'm not 100% certain.

Definitely will have to drill into the valve body, kinda scary, I used a superior hd shift kit which is adjustable from under the hood, hits like a hammer on setting 2. One of the holes in my valve body was .06" and it was drilled out to .375", whoa. Are you gonna do it youreself?

Yeah I am goign to do it myself, I have always heard that TransGo is the best, and it comes with a video, and it has the pressure release valve.
