Overloads??
Just curious what everybody recommends for overloads? I have been leaning toward the air bag overloads, but would go with something else if it is significantly cheaper & won't hurt the ride too much. I regurly haul a camper that puts nearly 3000 lbs in my truck with the camper, water, gear, & people. The truck does surprisingly well, but I think overloads would be helpful in the long run. Please post brands/cost/specs/where to get of any you might recommend.
Thanks

I've got a post in the "Suspension" forum called "Hellwig Progressive Springs" and it pretty much tells my opinion of what to use, but others will say the air bags will be a better solution.
Do you keep the camper on all the time? If you do, then the springs will probably do you better..... Because you will basically have the same weight loaded all the time. You could set your springs up to work with that weight and not worry anymore. If you carry various loads, that's where the air bags will come in handy. Let air out for no load, add air for whatever load you have.
I just went with the springs because I needed something to help the rear from sagging so much with very little weight in the bed and I'm CHEAP and LAZY. Didn't want to spend the extra $$ for the airbags or have to worry about filling them up each time I loaded something..... The on board compressor would be nice, but just more $$$.....Just me, but I really like the springs. Added some stiffness to the ride, but I like it that way. Feels like a truck suspension should, but still gives a smooth ride.

Thanks Mitch! I don't leave the camper on all the time - It's probably too much to leave on the 1/2 ton for extended periods. My problem is that I won't be able to purchase a Super duty for about 5-6 years, so I want to rig up my truck for this camper for the long haul. I've been leaning toward the air bags as I don't want to hurt the ride. Your truck probably rides better than mine stock for stock being the new style. The reason I'm thinking about the helpers(actually looked at the Hellwig's) is because I too am CHEAP and the money saved may help me get the Superchip. I'll take a look at the other topic as well.
