Brake Controller Question??

I am about to purchase a 2010 F150 with a tow pkg but no controller. Will it be prewired so all I have to do is find the plug and mount the controller. Is there a favored controller out there I should look at?
Thanks

General consesus is the Tekonsha Prodigy is the best bang for your buck.
Yes, it is pre-wired.... plug and play
You can also get a application specific wiring harness for the controller and no wire splicing is needed.

Another vote for the Prodigy. It plugged right in on my 03.

Yep, another vote for the Prodigy. I have the 'old' version, but I hear the new one is just as good... Pop for the extra $$ and get the Ford specific wire harness and all you have to do is mount the thing and plug it in.

Now, mounting it is a personal preference, but you want it to be visable and where you can reach the manual slid bar without having to look for it....

Tekonsha Prodigy is the way to go. And I say the same as MitchF150, make sure you can see, and get to it while driving.

wow, i was mildly curious but have no doubt in what to get now. 6 for 6 huh. at what point do you think you need a brake controller? i have the 7 pin plug on the hitch but does that control brakes on the trailer?

sorry new to towing heavier loads.

Yes get a Prodigy, and you will never have to look back.

The newest F150's are just now coming with built in brake controllers as the Super Duties have had for several years now.... But, they are still options on top of the basic 'tow package', so unless you have a strange looking thing built into the dash, you will need to get an aftermarket controller and plug it into the connector under the dash. The Prodigy is one of the best bang for your buck deals out there.. While others cost less, nothing compares to the smoothness and ease of use of the Prodigy...
