Question 2008 Fx2 without towing package

I came across a 2008 FX2 supercrew but it doesn't have a towing package. Is there anyway to get the tow package added from ford or can I do it myself. I dont do a whole lot of towing, just a 16 foot enclosed trailer and a 16 foot flat bed trailer.

yes, you can add it. I would go to your local trailer store to purchase a class III and have them install it for you. I had this done to my 02' Sport back when I bought it new. You might also want to look into a tranny cooler as well. Other then that, you should be fine.

Trans cooler, receiver, and 7 pin wiring harness get you to OEM, thne you need to add the brake controller and relays.

We just did this on my dad's 2006 Ford Expedition. Ford said you have to add a bigger transmission cooler, the 7 way pin, and ours already came with the class 5 hitch. Also they said we did not need to but there is a heavy duty radiator. We did everything including the radiator. My father tows a heavy camper through the mountains in the summer and didn't want problems. My buddy kinda took care of me at Ford and we got out for $700.
