Getting New Trailer Few Questions
I have a 2000 f-150 lariat 4x4 with factory towing package. I am wondering if all the relays for back up lights and battary charging should already be in there. I cant really look at it I am in PA for Christmas and the truck is in NC. I am also wondering if the 5.4 should haul a 6000lb trailer without any problems. I am ordering a triler brake with harness to plug into my ford directly so that makes that easier. Thanks for any input. Have a merry Christmas.

You should have no problem pulling a 6,000 lb trailer. I have owned a 2004 F-150 Supercrew for just over a year. I have pulled much bigger loads than your trailer. I have regularly pulled a Bobcat S250, which ways about 7,850 lbs, on a trailer that weighs about 3000lbs. Having said that, the truck pulled the 11,000+ lbs (including bobcat attachments) impressively well.
I recently put a performance chip in and I don't think I would ever need to get a bigger truck than a 1/2 ton FORD. I put a chip in made by Edge Performance Products. It has helped with towing, but it is no diesel chip.
