F150 7700
This has probably been covered but I will ask anyway.
I have a 2000 Ford F150 7700
5.4 v8
3.73 rear
Tow Package
7700# option.
What is the towing specs for this truck? I have always gone with the 1999 F250 LD specs.
We are looking to upgrade our camper. I currently tow a 21' Gulfstream Amerilite 5er at around 5000# +-. The truck performs great but we are looking at 6000 to 7500 range upgrade.

No problem! If you have a 4x4 your good for 8200#'s. A 4x2 will give you 400-500#'s more.

Don't forget to look at the combined wieght limits (CGVW). That is the realistic limit.

Mockingbird,
The F150 7700 is a real sweetheart of a tow truck. I tow about 6500 total with mine and it tows great. I do use a premium gas Superchip program and mine makes close to 400 ft/lbs of torque but the stock 7700 worked fine too. However, if your current 21' is 5000# dry (brochure weight, no options or fluids) you're probably well under your 8400 max tow. If the upgrade is 7500# dry (brochure weight) you're going to be pushing that f150 REAL HARD. It doesn't take very long to add 1000# to the dry weight of a TT. Options, battery, propane, toys, and your family add up fast. If you've already done the numbers and 7500 is your total tow weight then you should be fine.
