Sync update available now version 4.4
 

Found out there is an update. I ran it today and my mic is working again! Supposed to have some other 'fixes' and new features too.

Pretty straight forward process with the included instructions.. You just have to find your "Advanced" menu section after plugging in the USB to find the files.

Well, no mic again the next time I started the truck.. So much for that! Ugh.. Not impressed with this SYNC thing at all.. :(

I thought we had a SYNC specialist on here?

Yeah, it's sad when you end up yelling at SYNC and all it replies back at you with is "you can say usb or bluetooth audio or cancel.." I so want to put my fist thru the screen! ;)

Really love it when I pair my phone to it and I get a call and I can hear them, but they can't hear me... Classic..

I know I need to take it in to the dealer and just get it fixed... But I've got no time for that now, so I should stop bitching until I can and see what they can do with it.. ;)

Hi Mitch,

Have you performed a master reset to see if that corrects your mic issue? It may correct it, but since you stated it stopped working again, there may be an unrelated SYNC issue causing this.

It worked right after the update. On it's next start cycle, it did not. I did the master reset and it still didn't work. On it's next start cycle after the reset, it worked. Paired my phone and all was good.

Tried again this morning and no mic.

I know I just have to bring it into the dealer for them to look at it. My luck, it'll work! :)

Anyway, no time right now, but I will get it in eventually.. I'll just continue to complain because that's what we do! ;)

If the master reset didn't take care of it, I agree that the dealership will need to take a look. Let us know if any other questions come up in the meantime.

i don't meant to hijack your thread and if i am i will delete this ans start a new one, but it just seamed relevant to what you stated. anyway, will this update be available for the 2013 Fx4? im currently running v3.6.2 and it says im up to date? is there another way to check the updatability?

Did you check online? That's how I did mine. I registered my truck on the owners ford site when I first got it.

Checked in again and that's when it said I had a sync update available.

Followed the instructions and downloaded the update. Applied the update with a USB drive.

Reported back to the web site to confirm that I had installed the new update so my profile has been updated.

Not sure if you can tell from the radio itself?

yeah i checked the website already and it says that im up to date. :/ hmm... i wonder if maybe they will release it later for different build dates? ill keep checking. thanks.

Oh, do you have the "touch" system? Mine is just the basic sync with the smaller screen and buttons....

I don't think there is a new update for the touch system yet..
