2002 F150 FX4 lift kits?
I have a 2002 F150 FX4 extended cab 5.4 V-8 and I was wanting to put a lift kit on it but don't know the first thing about it. One of my concerns is that (besides voiding the warranty) how do I know that I am getting the right stuff. I would assume just like most other things each dealer has their own brand that they say is better than the guy's down the street. What do I need know and what are some of the qualities to look for in a suspension lift kit and a body lift kit? Also what are some of the common problems of lifting a truck? My truck only has 5k miles on it and I would hate to screw it up. What are some good brands for lift kits (both body and suspension), tires and wheels? What is the average cost of lifting a truck including the lift kits, tires, wheels and labor? I would love to hear about the results others have had with lifting this truck. After looking at some pictures of other trucks I was think about putting 33s or 35s how much lift would that require and do you have to do both a body and a suspension lift, what is the difference? Please help me out...Dan in ND

Dan I would stay away from any type of body lift and go with suspension only. I have a 00 expy with a 4'' Rancho and love it they have been in business a long time. I have had 3 Rancho kits in the past and have always had good luck with them . As far as tires go I had 35''s on at one time but I felt it took to much away from low end since I tow a boat I went down to 33''s that is what Rancho recomends with thier 4'' lift Also I hear that RCD is a good kit. good luck
