Hellwig,help

I wonder if anyone that installed the anti-sway bar on the rear of their truck can tell me if you used the long spacers or the short? The way mine lined up, I had to use one of each. The short one on the right side. Do I have to redo it?

You are supposed to use the same length link on both sides. The short ones are for 2 wheel drive and the long ones are for 4 wheel drive. You may have mounted it so that it is not completley parallel with the axle, if it were tipped (brackets rotated on the axle) that would answer the question.

That is what I was afraid of. Thanks for your help GearHead_1. I will have to redo it tomorrow.

If you do take off the bar, place it on a level surface and see if both sides lay flat. If not, if the the part of the bar that runs along the axle looks parallel to it, see if both arms are at the same angle when not bolted. The Hellwig bar I got for my Expy was not even.

Thanks for the tip. I loosened the clamp on the right side of the axle and removed the small sleeve. I gave the bar a pull and it came down to where it should have been. After reconnecting I found the ride closer to what I expected it should be. I had the truck undercoated today and you would think this part was factory now.

Glad it worked out.
