2006 Lincoln Mark LT 2WD groaning creaking noise while turning.

Hello everyone, I've had a problem with my Lincoln for a couple of weeks now. When I make a sharp left turn, either going forward or backwards, it makes a groaning creaking noise. I think it's only coming from the passenger side. I read online that I need to add grease to certain joints to fix it, but I have no idea where those joints are. I recorded a short video of the noise, and I also filmed behind the wheel in hopes that someone can tell me what to lubricate and how to do it. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for looking.

That sounds awful. You don't have any greaseable suspension parts. The stock parts are all sealed units.

Did you lift the truck and check for play?

I can't tell just by the sound what it is. You may need to replace ball joints, you could have a broken coil, etc.

Whatever it is, I'd get it fixed asap.

Hello, thanks for the response. I didn't notice anything strange or out of place under the truck. I also checked to see if the tires or rims were scraping against something. I think I remember reading a long time ago that I could cut into a rubber housing covering a ball joint and spraying some type of lubricant inside. That sounded really strange to me though so I didn't do it just in case I might make it worse.

You don't want to cut open the boot of a stock balljoint. There are ball joints that come with grease fittings, but those would not be factory in these trucks.

Does the truck make any sound if you push it up and down in the front?

It doesn't make any noise if I push down hard on the front bumper. It also doesn't make any creaking or groaning noise if it's driven straight forward or backwards. Even with slight turns it doesn't make a noise. It's only when it's a hard turn.

Well it's definitely ball joint, coil or tie rod related. I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer without the truck in front of me.

I'd definitely have a shop look at it.

Or, you might want to delete this thread and try posting in the "suspension" part of this forum. You'll get a lot more views there. This truck has the same suspension as an F150 anyway.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind and see what I can find :)

If I were you, I'd just delete this thread and post here: https://www.f150online.com/forums/suspension-28/

Someone there may have the exact info you're looking for.

Don't worry, you don't. A moderator moved your original thread to this section of the forum to be helpful.
