Upper Ball joints

I just replaced my upper ball joints a few months back and both boots are torn. The joints are still good can I replace just the boot and if so do I need to get the alignment down if all I do is separate the joint from the spindle and then put it back together...if that's possible. Its a 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x4.

no need for alignment if all you are doing is replacing a boot.

I'd figure out what ruined the boot before replacing. Do you have a lift/level? Are they greaseable? If so, 1 squirt of grease per oil change is all they need. Anymore and you'll ruin the boot.
