What's the difference?

This may be a dumb question but what's the difference if any is there between a 04-08 4wd front strut and a 09-14 4wd front strut. Thanks!

Mounting, length, and spring rate if it has the coil on it as well. Basically, they aren't interchangeable.

I've looked at both through bilstein and the only difference I can find is on the length.
04-08 collapsed 16.34
Ext. 21.89
09-13 collapsed 16.93
Ext. 21.83
both 46mm monotubes. So since it would never be fully collapsed then I don't see a difference in length being a problem. So is the issue the lower mounting bolt diameter?
I only ask cause I am needing a new set for my truck ASAP. The 04-08 are on backorder as the 09+ are not. Thanks!

I know that 2014 Ford changed the lower strut mounting. I think it was to two mounting bolts. I am not sure why they changed for that year only.
