6" lift options
so back when i purchased my truck, 2013 f150 xlt 4x4 ecoboost, i got what i think was a good deal for a lift. I do not know to much about lifts but ford sent me to a place thats going to do my lift. they guy there gave me options. I can either go with the rouch country knuckle lift or the pro comp k4143b knuckle lift. Now my question is, is a knuckle lift the most common way people do lifts? because when i think of a lift i think new shocks and all but what this guy is telling me is it is using factory springs with spacers. Should there be another type of lift i should be trying to get? also which is better between the two? dont do any hardcore off roading Thanks in advanced

There's no big reason to get ones with the 6" coilovers versus the 6" spacer if it's a street queen unless you have some extra cash to spend. Even if it needs new struts because the ones on it now are worn, it'd still be cheaper to replace them with oem style one.
Both are quality brands, just kinda comes down to brand loyalty or price, I haven't seen anything negative about either one yet.

As they put it "Street Queen" or whatever... The comfort and options are up to you and your pockets.. Coilovers ain't cheap.. Top choices would be BDS and Procomp with the coilover option or the McGaughy lift.. Lots of 2012-13 guys are going with this lift..

A "knuckle lift" is the only type of suspension lift that can be done on something with independent suspension. Aside from a body lift or leveling kit. I could go in depth but I don't know that it's necessary lol.
Either of the two brands you listed will be good... but...
I say McGaughy's... the installer wont have to notch the frame, making it a smarter and easier install. They are also a small business in Northern CA and their stuff is all American made. Just my two pennies

Spacer
It's an extra $531 for their replacement strut, and then a lot more for coil overs. Technically their "basic" can have the new struts like you've got, but it isn't a "basic" kit any longer when you're shelling out another $500

Your partially right, the 6" basic BDS for the 09-13 does use a new strut, but the 4" basic BDS for the 09-13 uses a spacer. Can't just blanket statement them both though.
