Lift kit for 7700 4x4 2001?

Hey everyone, my names Derek im from Manville New Jersey and ive had my 2001 Ford f150 XLT 7700 for about 2 years now and im ready to lift it but i just dont know where to begin haha. I have about 700$ for a lift and was going to put it on my self. I started searching for lift kits for f150s my year and nothing really in my budget besides this.

Im trying my best to stay away from body lifts because of horror stories i"ve heard and was wondering if possible a f250 lift may work considering it is pretty much a light duty f250. I know i already have extra leafs in the back and it sits higher then normal stock f150s, if i add the lift that i showed in the link would it even make a difference in my trucks height? If anyone can give me some information or advice on what lift to get please let me know!

If 700 is your budget then I'd recommend cranking your factory torsion bars. It's free plus the cost of an alignment, and you can get about 2" of lift. Don't buy that kit you linked above, it does the same thing you can do for free and aftermarket torsion keys are always a bad idea if you value your cv axles, ball joints, and tie rod ends.

And no, a f250 lift won't work, they use a different suspension setup in the front.

And if you still want more lift, body lift with you installing it yourself is about the only other thing that'll fit in your budget. What horror stories have you heard about body lifts that steer you away from them?

Look at mine. Mine is a stock 7700 with the stock torsion keys cranked. I could go about another 3/4inch but stopped there. I know its hard to tell by the pic in my sig but when you are next to it on level ground it has a nice level stance. It does kinda look lilke a small lift but didnt cost a dime. Just about 20min worth of time. Thats what I would reccomend. As you mentioned they do sit a little higher than a regular F150 in the back so raising the front makes them look good IMO without a lift.
