Anybody know what rize customer service is like nowadays??

What about the kit for the 04-08, do ya'll think its worth the hassle alot of fellors been going through, 8" specifically, or is there another alternative to a TRUE 8" kit?

Locally I have yet to find someone who can get a kit directly so It seems i will have to order online if i go that route

Assuming their 6+ month wait lines are still there, absolutely nothing.

Yep its awful, I ordered one a year or so ago and took almost a full year to receive the kit. Don't really hear much of anything from them now a days and I'm not even sure if they are still in business. From my experience they have a great product but have the worst possible service

Prolly better off going with a BDS or Procomp or something along those lines with coilovers to get 8"

That sucks yah had to wait a whole year. I see the kit for sale on modbargains and exaltmotorsports, but otherwise thats the plan, I break this apart in my head whether it be worth installing on my back or paying a shop to do the install. BDS or fabtech with SAW coils and 2" AS spacer so i dont preload the coils. I'd love Icons but theyre not available for 6" kits

I got a buddy whos a diesel tech in Houston I dont know if Id wanna bug him for a weekend to do the install when I visit him :lol:

I added a 1.5" Autospring spacer to my 6" BDS kit with the replacement struts and it barely worked. I did not like the way the strut sat in the position it is supposed to, so I took it out and replaced it with the 8" struts and it rides much better. Plus, I dont have that fear of breaking anything anymore.

Let me explain....The replacement struts come with a top poly spacer sort of thing that is beveled. It is designed I am assuming to make the strut lean into the truck at a slight angle. When installing the struts, this spacer can only fit 1 way on top with the 3 bolts (hence creating the lean-in position). When you go to add the AS spacer, you are required to turn the strut 180 degrees. This causes the strut to lean away from your truck and not sit flush in the tower where it is designed to. It didnt leave a lot of threads for the outermost bolt and I feared I was going to shear off the nut and create a major problem.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that adding a spacer to top of the BDS kits is not the best option. You should just look into getting the 8" BDS and call it a day. Look at your local BDS dealer at a offroad shop as they will get you the best price on a kit. Do NOT order online from BDS...Those prices are way higher than if you get it from a local shop that deals with BDS/Zone directly.

I shouldnt have that problem with aftermarket coils though, because I highly doubt those have a poly spacer on top. But I will keep it in mind. Here in Miami there is only one dealer who sells BDS and only one who sell fabtech, and theyre small shops, so price shopping itll be within the next couple months, and yeah BDS is overpriced. I've heard people complain about the PC and how it chips off, but nothing some rustoleom hammer can fix. My trucks a daily so no need to be all fancy

I do need to find a reputable shop to install and balance them heavy M/T tires though!!

If by aftermarket coils you mean like Fabtech Dirt Logics or Pro Comp MX2.75's then okay. Otherwise I am telling you that I have the new struts that the BDS comes with, not the 6" spacer, and you will have problems putting a spacer on top of the poly spacer the kit comes with. The poly spacer is like 1" thick on the skinny side and 2.5-3" on the thicker side.

I havent had problems with the grey powder coating yet as my kit hasnt gone through a New England winter yet but like you said its nothing that cant be easily fixed.

X2 quite a few good shops around here, is Cutten still open? They offer a BDS for close to $2,100 installed

Oh definitely man, I dont plan on going with the BDS coils, I really would like some rebuildable units to my liking. Hows the ride compared to stock?

It would be more cost effective to do what your saying 06, I'll be sure to hit yah guys up next time I'm in houston.
