4", 6" or no lift with 33's

just wanted to see what everyones thoughts were on this topic. i think by next summer im going to be dying to get either a 4 or 6" lift for my truck. i currently have just a 2" overall level on my ride, along with 3" blocks for the rear. still has a slight rake to it.

but either way, whats the general concensus from everyone out there about how either my own or anyones truck out there would look with a level, 6" lift and running 33" toyo m/t's? think it would look silly til those tires wear out enough to get 35's? even with the 4" let alone the 6?

i just dont want the tires and wheels to look real small while still running the 33's. i see guys running some really big tires, like 37's or 38's with upwards of 10 to 12 inches of lift. lots of gap in the wheel wells but i think that for the most part looks pretty sweet. so i guess it nearly be the same deal just not as extreme. but still, just like to see if the mojority of you truck enthusiasts give it the thumbs up or thumbs down. thanks all.

Are you 4x2 or 4x4?

Personally I think 33s are too small for a 6" lift. Maybe wouldn't look too bad with a 4" lift. I think 35s look a little small in the front with my 6" lift but my bumper also makes them look even smaller

I ran a level for a while with 35s but ultimately I wanted to go bigger. My 35s with a 6" look small to me. The general idea around here is that if you are thinking about a 6" go for it, because most likely you won't be completely satisfied.

If I were you I would just save up run the 33's until I can afford to lift and add tires.

Assuming your 4wd.
6" and 33's will look bad. 35's IMO looks small on a 6".

if you get the right wheel you can fit a 37" on 6" lift for the 09+

A leveling kit and 33's would look really good together

I just went from 2-1/2" Level and 33's to a 4" Rancho (actually a 5" lift) thinking I would have to go to at least 34's or 35's. I got the lift two weeks ago and am very pleased with how it looks with the 33's. When the time comes to get new tires, I think I am going to stick with 33's. (save some dough and maybe a mile per gallon).

Check out my profile for the recent pics of the rig...

I have always liked the looks of the rancho 4" with 35's. The tire size to lift ratio looks great in my opinion. 35's and a 6" is just too redundant for me.

well i must say trueblue, i do like the look of your 5" rancho and 33's. maybe just a teeniest little bit smaller than what id like. instead of staying with my 33" toyo's i think id go up to the 34" nitto trail grapplers when the time comes to get some new rubber to fill in the wheel wells just a little bit more. ill definately keep that combo in mind. i do want to go bigger than what i have now but if i could avoid the hit on the gastank and wallet that a 35" toyo will do then i will. hell i think even the 34" nitto trail will be lighter in weight overall than my 33" toyo m/t by a little bit.

if you have no plans for 35's, stick with your level or a 4" kit.

what size are your wheels? my 35/1250/17 BFG AT's were $950 OTD and my 35/1250/18 trail grapplers were $1200 OTD.

my wheels are 18", tires(toyo m/t) are 33x12.50's. i got my black xd monsters and toyos shipped to my house for under 2300 bucks. ill keep the wheels for a long time. tires i will upgrade to a 34 or stick with the 33" if i have to and go with the 4 inch rancho lift.
