Having a 2.5" AS leveling kit installed today....

...on my 2004 FX4 super cab, & am kinda worried (mainly nervous of the look) about it being too much. What options do I have if the front sits too high, other than buying a 2" kit?

I plan on taking a couple of pictures of it sitting on level pavement before taking it in, & taking some after shots for you guys (the experts) to see what you think.

Thanks.

On a 04, 2.5AS should make it sit perfect. If it is too high for you, add an additional leaf spring (if you tow/haul frequently) or get a taller block. I doubt you will need either though unless you want more rake. Don't forget your alignment.

I just installed the AS 2.5 last week and got my alignment. The level looks and feels perfect. Sorry I don't have pics. I have the stock wheels and tires and the gap has increased, but I still may not upgrade to 33s. Stockers look fine in there.

I did install some 1.5" wheel spacers at the same time and that helps with the overall look I think.

Here is my 04 with the 2.5in AS and a Fat Bobs add-a-leaf. You really notice the difference from stock height and the stock tires are not too bad, but I will like it much better after I throw on some trail grapplers. Either 295/70/r18s or true 35x12.5, have not decided yet as I hope to add in a Rancho 4in lift in the near future too so 35s will probably be the way to go

You can get a higher block for the rear to replace the stock 4x4 1 5/8 block. Check online, rough country has one, top gun customz has them, ready lift has one as well. I believe its a 3 inch block and new u bolts that will replace the 1 5/8 block. So before and after you will gain like a little over 1 inch probably. This is a nice combo because it wont give you that really rake look but will give the rear a tad more height.

Thanks guys (& gals, if present), getting the alignment done at the same time.

I like the way your truck looks Barryrod, especially with the side steps, as my truck has just about the same ones.

I don't do much towing & when I do it is just a wheeler or two, so I am not too concerned about the back sagging when I tow.

Thinking I am going to go with 285/65/18R (maybe even 295's if there will be no issues) when I need new tires, til then I'll run the stock tires.

Here a few pics of mine with 295/70/18 and 2.5AS, rear is stock, no rubbing issues at all:

OK got it back last night, all my worries were unwarranted, it's awesome! Sits perfectly level, just like the trucks posted earlier in the thread.

Just need to get the headlights adjusted now, probably the fogs too.

Will post pics later today if anyone is interested.

Looks good man! I have basically the same truck and a leveling kit in the mail, I was curious what it would end up looking like. Once again, looks great!

I'm thinking 33's are the biggest I will go with, this way it leaves room in the fender wells for more suspension travel w/o chancing contact to the fenders.
