regear or supercharger?
Hey guys!
I've been reading posts half the day and have thought about regearing since I put my lift on but never saw the need to... until now.
I did some towing this week and was trying to back a small single axel trailer over a small bump but couldnt get it up and over. IN 4LOW, floored with an over heating transmission!
I dont tow a lot but when I do I dont want my effin chevy driving employee's giving me hard time!
My other concern is that my truck is lacking power between 65 and 80 up hill. All WOT does is let everyone around me know that I have exhaust.
I've already decided that I'll go with 4.56's since I'm running 35's but:
Where can I get the best deal online?
How much should I pay someone to put them in?
Should I just supercharge it? (I can do that install myself ha ha)

If you supercharge it with stock gears and tow you'll pop tranny's like nothing. Gear first and then supercharge. Trailers are really tough on the tranny when you are not moving to cool the fluid down, watch that gauge!
If you do high elevation towing, you can forget about a supercharger. You will want to look into a turbo setup. Their is a reason why diesels come with turbos.

What is the gear ratio now? 3:55 or 3:73? Engine 5.4 or 4.6? I would defiantly re-gear before supercharging it myself. I would also look into a chip, it will help you out with a little more torque and you can change transmission shifts (tow, haul, sport, etc) it will also allow you to change rev limiter to help hold the rpms and less shifting up hills. It will also re calibrate your speedo for your 35" tires.

It doesn't matter if you running 35's do 4.88 but if possible go even higher. I learnt the hard and expensive way, take a look. http://www.truckmodcentral.com/forum...ead.php?t=4159
