Blocks - AAL's - shims
 
I have a 2007 w/ a procomp 6" lift.

I would like advice on the most secure/durable way to lift up my rear, I dont mind spending an extra few bucks...

My rear measurement from tire to wheelwell is 9.5" (2" factory and 2.5" procomp block) and my front measurement is 11" meaning i need at least 1.5" to get to level (I would rather be higher in the back than lower)

My intuition says replace my blocks with a 5.5" procomp and an AAL

can someobdy link me to shims? do i need these? and where would I get the longer U bolts?

I would really appreciate some knowledgeable info so that I can purchase these components and get my rear end to the correct hight and balance my driveshafts.

I have the same lift in my truck. I took my truck to a local spring and axel shop. They added another leaf and re arched the spring pack enough to only need a 2 inch block to make the back end sit level. I know othe people have installed an AAL to level it out. As for the longer U bolts try phoning some shops around town and see if they could fab you up a set. :thumbsup:

I only ran the pro-comp aal and it leveled the truck fine. The block plus the add-a-leaf will make truck looked raked.

good info guys. would either of you advise against swapping the 2.5" block for a 4" block as a quick fix? and are you guys using shims to get a tapered block effect?

I was hoping to eventually get down to only 1 block... If i went with the 4" (and deleting the factory block) you think they would be able to add a leaf and arch my springs to get back above level?

You can also do a shackle lift if you didn't want to mess with the AAL. I don't think the shackle will affect your ride that much either.

I'm trying to do the same as you for the back sagging issue and also b/c I recently had to change my pinion seal and warranty wouldn't cover it due to my pinion angle. I ordered the 5" blocks from Tuff Country which have the bump stops on it and will order a shim kit as soon as I have time. I already have the AAL, but I also have the the leveling spacer up front with the pro comp spacer so I have an 8.5" lift. I have an inch left to my U-Bolts I have now so I'm going to try and use the same ones with the 5" block and shim.

I might as well just buy the procomp 4" for now. at least it will be level stacked on top of the factory one.

I can always add a leaf later and swap it for the factory too.

With the 4" block you'll have to get new u-bolts. With the AAL you shouldn't need anything else. It'll just be a lil more stiff in the rear.

when i was at 6" i bought the 4" block and 1.5" aal and it sat perfectly leveled

so if i go for the 4" + 2" factory block for the time being until I AAL -

anyone know where i can find long U bolts to fit?

dont recall seeing em online or in any stores...
