I have a Fabtech and my wheels have 5.4" backspacing. Now, it might be different since mine is a 4x4.

Don't think I am going to take the wheel out to check bs though, 1 reason being I would screw it up somehow I know it.

And how small of blocks are we talking? Will it be bulldogged that much with the blocks originally in the fabtech?

Thanks alot
No problem on the help. I think the blocks that come with the kit are 2.5" blocks so you'll be sitting pretty low in the rear if you don't upgrade to the 5" blocks.

Ouch, guess I will have to look into that too then,

Do you have any pictures of your truck with the 2.5" block or did you get 5" right away?

I had the 5" block installed right away because the shop told me it would sit low if they installed the smaller block.

i installed a fabtech 6 inch lift for a friend and he left the 2.5 inch block in the back for a while.
it wasn't hideous, he did stack a 2.5" spacer in the front. But if you are just doing the 6 inch in the front and the 2.5 inch black in the rear it should look decent.
also my truck wasn't to bad when i got bigger tires, it was slower but i don't go fast in the truck anyway lol

I just found it's actually a 2" block that comes with the kit. I took measurements of mine this morning and with the 5" lift block installed I sit ~1" higher in the rear. So that means you should be sitting ~2" lower in the front if you leave the 2" lift block in that comes with the kit.

According to this site, the 18x9 Rockstars only come with one backspace setting and it is 5 inches. Your wheels will fit with the Fabtech lift. The tires will look small, but some people do not mind it.

That made me oh so happy to hear lol, great thing to read right when I get home from work. Thanks for finding that out for me.

And I think when I asked around for some more prices I am going to ask about the 5" block also, might as well do it right the first time if it makes that big of a difference.

So I just looked on an offroad shops website and it said 20% off all fabtech lifts with installation. Emailed them straight away to see what kind of deal that really turns out to be. Asked them if they could get me some kind of figure for e the basic 6" lift+5" block out the door, hopefully its something low so I can do it sooner rather than later.

Take a look at the min backspacing requirement for the lift you want. I am pretty sure the 18x9 rockstars only come with one offset of 0mm which means you have 4.5" backspace. I think this is the minimum backspacing for the fabtech.

Email them the specs of your wheel and the tire combo you want to use and they can tell you if they will fit.

You are correct on the offset on the Rockstars, but an 18x9 wheel with 0mm offset has a 5" BS, not 4.5.

Rim width is measured on the inside edge where the wheel mounts and backspace is measure from the outside edge. You have to add 1" to take into account the ~ 1/2" front and rear lip on wheels to convert between the two.

9 + 1 = 10 / 2 = 5
5 + 0 = 5

Rim Width + 1 Divided by 2 = Centerline
Centerline plus (or minus) the offset = BS

I got a quote from Allsouth auto sports today and they want $1669.99 for the lift+5 inch block, $750 install, $90 alignment.

Good? Bad? Ugly?

He also factored in a steering stablizer and install for that, but really don't think Ill need it since im staying on my tires for a while + I dont offroad much.

Nah you don't need the steering stabilizer. Tell them to take that off and give you a new quote.
