'04 to '08 F150 4x4 rear lift (leaf springs)
 

I would like to re-do the rear lift on my truck by way of new leaf springs. I am looking for a total of 6" of lift over stock, and if possible would like to get rid of the factory lift blocks while I am at it. Are there any leaf springs for an '06 F150 4x4 (6 lug wheels, non-HD package) that will get me 6" higher than stock? I will be installing Sway Away Race Runner shocks (front coilovers, and rear shocks) and can compensate for the lift amount at the time of purchase. I imagine a set of Deaver leaf springs would ride nicely with the front coil-overs, but will they get me any lift?

I've grown tired of my double stacked blocks (Pro Comp lift kit) and add a leafs. Axle wrap sucks.

I have the deaver 4" leaf springs, but Ill tell you now they are 6" of lift. When i installed them I put them in with the rize 6" block and netted 12" of lift, took the block out and had it cut to 4" and now i sit just 1/8" over 10" of lift.

I would love to swap mine out for complete 10" leaf packs from deaver but dont want to throw any cash at redos right now. Down the road I might but for now this is working just fine.

If your in cali, which i think you are look up bajaconcepts.com they are in cali, i bought from them but had a fiasco getting them. I bet it would be no hassle to go pick them up since they had the best price when I purchased, deaver direct might be a good option also.

I have a set of National leafs that I had made for 9" of lift but netted me about 10". National Springs is in Santee,CA. I absolutely love them so far and even though they have a payload of roughly 2000lbs they ride awesome because of the 2 stage design. If you give Ben a call there he'll be able to make you anything you want. If you want super flex and no towing capability, all towing and no flex or anything in between they can do it. It took a week to build and $900 w/out shipping. The smaller the lift, the cheaper the price. I imagine that 6" leafs would cost you about $650 or so. I'd suggest going with a 5" stack if you go stiff and 6" if you go the flex route.

Deaver is also a great option from what I hear though they are more pricey.

Thanks guys! I'll have to contact National Spring and see what they have to say about it. I figure 8" of lift in the front with 6" in the rear ought to look okay, and still leave me with enough rake that I don't look like a squating dog everytime I hookup to the trailer or throw a bike in the bed.

Are you gonna crank the coilovers up to 8" in the front? If that's the case and you want the rear to be the same height or slightly higher then go with a 8" pack so you can get rid of the OEM blocks too. I thought you were just trying to stay at 6" all the way around. 8" leafs should run somewhere around $850. Just make sure you tell Ben exactly what you want(ie. to be able to tow but still have some flex).

If you want the baja look then you're on the right track w/ the 8" front and 6" back. Doesn't sound like that's what you want though.

Good point, I forgot all about the 2" factory blocks when I posted that... Yeah, 8" springs would yield 6" over stock when you remove the factory blocks.

How do you like the ride of your springs?

I love the ride of mine dude. I can jump on the back bumper and it will dip about an inch and yet it still doesn't ride like a dump truck. I got extra payload added to mine for the sake of being able to load it up with drywall or tow a boat. You could do stock payload specs and keep the 2 stage design I have in order to give you an even better ride but you might squat 2" or so with a bike or trailer.

I currently have an extra leaf in my stock spring-pack, for the same reasons as you listed (including drywall). I'll call them an let them know my intentions... they are the experts, so I am sure they can get me pointed the right direction. I don't mind a firm ride, as long as it isn't terrible (which it doesn't sound like it is).

Go with the same specs as I did then man. I've never had an AAL in mine but from all I've heard I think my leafs ride better than stockers w/ an AAL. Have them add the extra payload like I did and you won't be sorry.

Another good company to consider is atlas springs. I am running their 6'' leafs on my 03 with no blocks. With my 6'' fabtech up front, yeah, i have like a 1.5'' bulldog stance, but i like it!

again, whoever you purchase from, if you want a level stance, get 8'' springs, so you can run no blocks. if you are looking to crank your coilovers, you may want 10'' springs.

I don't man. My 9" leafs are actually sitting up at 10 1/4" right now and I don't think they are going anywhere because of the way they built them. I'm sure it is different w/ yours mini but if you go w/ National, keep that in mind Tornadom

my main point though is that he needs to order ~2'' more than what he "needs" to compensate for the elimination of the factory block. he is going to be eliminating his stock springs, and all of his blocks. the kit he has now uses his stock springs, a stock 2'' block, and a pro comp 4'' block, if am not mistaken.
the big spring companies i can think of off-hand, alcan, atlas, deaver, national all make their springs a little differently. they all make excellent springs, though. you just need to specify to whoever you deal with exactly what it is what you're looking for in your springs, both in dimensions, and stiffness, and they can work something out for you, Tornadom.

my springs haven't settled, either, btw.;) they were set up for a balance between payload and flex.

AHHHHHH see that ws the break in communication. He has a 6" lift and wants to crank it to 8". Knowing that and with you saying 8" or 10" I thought you were telling him to go 2" bigger than what he really needs.

i am more familiar with the 97-03 F-150 suspension than the 04-08, forgive me if i have caused confusion.

don't forget, you may need new u-bolts, too. chances are you'll need some in a length between your current ones and the stockers, but i'm not entirely sure here.
