Performance after lift?
 

Ok, after reading everyones posting, I am going to start lifting my 06 F150 XLT SC. But before I start I do have a qusetion if you guys could help me out. After I add a 2 1/2" leveling kit (or something else)and tires, how do I keep from losing my performance? I currently do not have any type of performance exhaust nor have I changed the gears in the rear/front (would this be needed?) Also Does anyone have/tried the BANKS power pack exhaust system? It claims it will give an extra +45 hp/+47 lb-ft. I am open to any and all ideas and want to do it right and have BAD A$$ truck!!!

First off, Welcome!

As you increase the size and weight of your rims and tires, you can't help but lose performance. You can counteract the lose with either gears or a programmer or both.

You can also add in exhaust, intake, electric fans, under drive pulleys, that's pretty much all the basic bolt-ons.

After that you're looking at supercharging or a head swap, a decent cam, etc...

gears will help you big time if you get bigger tires :]

Gryphon or Xcal3, custom tunes are the only way to go.

This is what my Xcal3 did for me; speed limiter removed, Rev Limiter at 5800rpm, improved throttle response, advanced timing, firmer shifts, adjusted shift points, adjusted converter lockup

It sounds like you still need to do more reading.

I went through what you went through with my '07.

In preparation for the anticipated power loss from the bigger tires, I got electric fans, an underdrive pulley, intake, exhaust, and custom tuning. Man, what an improvement over stock. I was getting great mileage and a lot more power.

Next, the lift went on. It felt like a total dog. Those big tires really drag.

Then I got a transmission cooler, deep sump transmission pan, larger capacity differential cover, and 4.10 gears. After all that, the truck is now still more responsive than stock. But nothing like it was with just the performance mods & OEM tires.

a tuner will not 100% compensate for the need of a gear swap and add stress on the trans, go for the regear then the custom tune, efans, shift kit etc
