Lookin for pics and info 40's on 04-08

Hey i have a 06 Fx4 with a Rize 8" kit bumped to 10.5 inches and have 18x10
wheels with 37" mud grapps and looking to do 40's any major rubbing or should they fit ok ? Thanks for any info !!

I don't know of any issues you would have other than the fact that Rize claims their 12" kit only fits 40's.

I'd be curious to know though because I'm getting ready to install an 8" Rize on my 08 FX4 and I know I will bump it up to atleast 10" when I need to get new shocks/struts and I will probably want to go with 40's when the 37's I'm about to put on are worn out. I was thinking that I would have to add a 3" body lift in order to fit the 40's though.

Very cool Rize is a awesome kit. I am sure i have seen some people on here with just a Rize kit stacked and 40's but can't find it in the search.

Anybody know what the answer is? Will 40's work on 10.5" of lift?

I know FX4life has an 8" Rize and he's up to 10" with 37's.......maybe he would know.

and here is what i searched

i think it can be done but you might have to do a body to play it safe if you dont want to trim. however that is all a guess i dont have your body style and didnt read thru the threads entirely. good luck

tlt008 Jan 13, 2009 09:44 AM

I just PM'd FX4life......we'll see what he has to say

tlt008 Jan 13, 2009 09:51 AM

If you look closely you can tell that he's done some trimming....atleast on the front valance....it looks like the corner is cut off of it.

Also, by looking at that first profile picture with the wheel turned, you can't tell me that if you went ofer a bump or hit a pothole or..god forbid...went offroading that he wouldn't have any rubbing on the front bumper. It honestly looks like it would significantly damage that corner of the front bumper if the suspension traveled enough

fx4 for life 79 Jan 13, 2009 10:07 AM

if you also did a body lift you could clear them

bullitt5244 Jan 13, 2009 11:10 AM

Yeah that poor guy with the one on auto trader having to sell it. Very nice truck though.
I am hoping on not having to do a body lift, prefer to just trim a little.

tlt008 Jan 13, 2009 11:26 AM

Take it to a tire shop or a 4x4 shop and see if they'll test fit some 40's on your truck. I hear people reccomend that on here all the time but I've never tried it myself. Seems like a good idea though.

Whatever you figure out, can you please let me/us know?

Thanks bro

I know FX4life has an 8" Rize and he's up to 10" not with 37's.......maybe he would know.

He is running 37's.

that was a typo..I know he's got 37's......what I meant was that maybe he would have some insight on the matter since he's got 10" of lift.

thanks for pointing that out though

bullitt5244 Jan 13, 2009 12:33 PM

I think around here it's hard to find 40's in a 18 but def. a good idea to trial fit.

ATOM Jan 13, 2009 12:40 PM

give texanavatior a message, he's running 38's with 10 inches of lift (rize and bilsteins)maybe he was some input on fitting 40's
