2wd lift on a 4x4

i have been looking for a 3 inch lift for my 2003 Fx4, i found one at http://store.fatbobsgarage.com/share...t=products.asp but its for a 2wd. Will this fit on my pickup? also, if not, does anyone know of a leveling kit for these trucks that does not require cranking the torsion bars? will one for a 2wd from the same year work if its a spacer or say a 4x4 from 04 and up? any and all help is appreciated thanks.

No, the suspension on the 97-03's is completely different than the 4x2's or the new 04-09's.
All you have to do is crank up the torsion bars. Just don't buy a leveling kit. They are just reindexed torsion bar adjustment keys. They do the same thing as cranking up the torsion bars with your oem adjustment keys, except they allow you to put way, way too much preload on the torsion bars. No need to pay $200 for something you can do for free.

But I want to know if there is a spacer that I can put on the coil springs, because I dont want to crank the torsion bars and get my ball joints and cv's all jacked up. could i fab one up my self? thanks for the help

97-03 4x4s dont have coil springs. they use torsion bars instead. if you want a 3" lift without messing with the torsion bars your gonna want a body lift or you can step up to a 4" lift which i think rancho makes. dont know about the kit just knew that they make it

bro, you don't have coil springs on your truck! your truck's suspension and frame are different than that of a 2WD. either crank up the torsion bars to level it, purchase a body lift, or purchase a full suspension lift.

THose are basically your three options. You don't have to crank up the torsion bars untill the CV and ball joints are crazy.
