40's or bigger
i have a 97 f150 with a 6" fabtech and 3 " body lift. i have the torsion bars fully cranked and plan on putting a 2" block in the rear to level out the truck. i clear the 38.5x15.5x16.5 tsl's preety good. i have thrashed it off road in the sand and no rubbing yet. i would like to know what the biggest tire anyone has ran with a similar setup? i would like to get 40's under it if possible with the help of some buskwhacker fender flares. any ideas or suggestions are appr. thanks

that's as big as you can go with the torsion bar based IFS. You need to be looking into a SAS to lift it higher. Basically, that means dropping all the suspension, and replacing it with a solid front axle. If you like to offroad, you will notice far less parts failing as well compared to IFS...

this truck is staying on the road from here out, i got another toy to take out and play with now. i have rough fitted a set of 39.5 boggers on there, it was the 5-5.5 bolt pattern so it didnt bolt on, but it still had a bit of room. the bushawahcker fender flares i am putting add add aprox. 3" of fender clearance. i was just curious of anyone had did anything like this yet.

I believe you are at the absolute limit now.

i think you could cut your fenders and use the flares and make the 40s fit.
i wouldn't recommend it though... unless you like rice krispies. snap, crackle, pop |
Ive seen 39.5" Boggers on with the same setup you are running but im not sure if any mod's where done to the fender.
Id stick with 38's You already are pushin the IFS to its max. |
thanks guys for the input, i think i will try to stick to the 38 inch range, unless i find some awesome deal on something bigger.
