Clunk on acceleration/deceleration

Hey everyone,

I'm new here as I just bought a 2000 f-150 6-cyl. Just wondering if anyone could help me. When I accelerate there is a clunk that is felt through the steering wheel and it doesn't seem to happen again after that until I either go over bumps or decelerate. It's like it does it once when I accelerate and then not really again until I brake. Sometimes when I go down a dirt road or pot hole it happens as well. Anyone have any idea what I should check first?

Thank you,
Jason

Check motor mounts I had an 86 150 with a 300-6 it had a clunk like that, best thing to do is get a buddy pop the hood, have him watch the motor while you AKA- power brake in forward-whatch to see if motor lifts up higher on one side-then try revearse, see if you get a clunk,---oh try not to spin tires while your buddys under the hood checken stuff out,lol kind of new to the site but love the info here!
