So i have been searching around for lifts for my fx4 screw. First i was gonna go with 6" with 35's. Then i was bout to pull the trigger on 8" rize 37's/24's, 4:88. Then i got to thinking about long term and road trips and stuff like that. What im asking is, will i be able to load up and go on road trips with the 8" rize without running out of money before i get there. I mean is it practical to take road trips like that without something brakeing or just getting rediculous gas mileage. Is there that big of a difference between the to setups thats gonna hold me back from being able to use my truck.
I hope i explained it ok. let me know if i didnt. PLEASE HELP!!!

All I can tell ya is that after my 6" was on for about 3 months I wanted to go bigger.
Also I just went thru my first tank with the 6" + 3" body lift and I got the same mileage with the extra 3" 12.5
I expect it to go down some after I get my 38s but I'm not sure...It may go up or stay about the same since I have 4:88 gears.

. Difference between the two won't be that big of a difference, what one can do so can the other, biggest difference is with 35's you can get away without re-gearing but with 37's you pretty much have to re-gear maybe not right away but the sooner the better. If you're thinking about 8" and 37's, just do it, otherwise you'll regret it. Also, think about dropping down to 20's, would save you a lot of money and give you some much needed sidewall
I've got a 10" lift and 37" tires on my 2ED. I regeared to 4.56's. I get the same gas mileage....12.5-14
Always go the highest you can at the beginning because you'll always want that extra inch later.

I'm running 38's with 4.88 gears and am getting atleast 10mpg right now anyway. I've gone through 3/4 of a tank since getting regeared and have put on about 280 miles so far
with conservative driving and accounting for my speedo being off slightly, I'm expecting about 12mpg avg

No if you only have that truck to drive everyday stay with 35's. You will hate driving the truck every day getting 11Mpg's

I have 35" tires with a 6" lift and 4.88 gears and I am getting about 15mpg on long trips. But like all the others I cant wait till I put a 3" body and 38's on. We will see what happens when I get there.
