how to, wheel bearings

i have a 98 4x4 and i have to change my drivers side wheel bearings they are grinding and vibrating. the haynes manual only shows how to do 2wd and im sure its different.

I might be wrong but I dont believe 4x4s have wheel bearings or if they do they are a whole assembly with the CV joint.

Cool Hub and bearing assemblies

The 4x4 front should have a hub and bearing assembly. The shop manual from Ford or a Chilton should show you how.

Can be tricky with auto hub locks. May be better to take to a qualified gear shop.

The rear axle is common 4x2 to 4x4.

well i was confused about it because on the 03 sivevado i got the whole lower control arm and ball joint had to be replaced with it and i wasnt sure if ford was like that.

mine is in the shop for this exact problem right now ill get it back tonight and ill post back mine is on the drivers side as well.
