Raise or Lower?

What are the Pro's/Con's to Raising the front or Lowering the rear? I've heard from both sides on how to do it but not too much on why/benefits.

Thanks.

It's strictly for appearance.

Thanks Wandell.....

If I lower the rear (remove the 2" block) will this be enough change to warrant an alignment (caster) afterwards?

Lowering the rear will reduce your payload capacity.

Raising the front with a leveling kit will stress the front suspension and cause premature ball-joint failure.

Not if he is removing the block only.....

lowering rear, no need for caster alignment IMO
raising front, stiffer ride premature part wear

whats your truck look like? that could help people tell what they think would look best. i would suggest 2 1/2 spacer in front.

Also, if you were wanting to level the truck out and runner bigger tires, then level the front.

65,000 miles on my leveling kit, ball joints still kickin' and haven't had an alignment since the install, tires wearing perfectly!
