Lower rear of 08 FX4?

I just bought a new 08 FX4 supercrew 4x4, I see most ppl are running the front level kit to bring up the front to match the rear, I was thinking of droping to rear to match the front, has anyone done this and if so what's the best way to do this? I don't want to run bigger tires as I do alot of hwy driving and thinking of gas milage.

you should have a 1 inch block in the rear from the factory. you can remove that to lower it 1 inch. or you could get some drop shackles like IRON said. you can pick them up from groundforce.

The easiest thing would be to remove the OEM lift block. I believe it's 2 inches however.

Plenty of members have pulled the rear blocks on a 4x4, it's the quickest and cheapest way to lower the rear level with the front. You need to buy the 2wd u-bolts as the 4x4 ones don't have enough thread on them after you pull the blocks out. Here is a link to the 2wd bolts

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getLocator&siteid=213668&chapter= DR2MA04&appSectionid=2788&groupid=2523&subgroupid= 4097&componentid=6382&make=10&model=F%2D150&year=2 007&catalogid=2

Make sure you buy the standard ones, the heavy duty models are for the heavy duty payload package are thicker bolts, so they won't fit.

Here is a pic of mine before

and after I pulled the blocks

And the rear blocks are actually 1 5/8" on 4x4's and FX4's.

Can the same U-bolts be used on the 08' 4x4 XLT if I want to lower the rear instead of raising the front? I noticed the site only listed 04-07.
