Shocks for my 03, please help
So I noticed that my shocks on the front end are leaking. I am moving from Las Vegas to Richmond, VA and I know I need to replace the leaking shocks. One shop recommended I put Rancho's on to replace them another shop recommended KYB's. Does a 2003 need a leveling kit? If I plan on lifting the truck (a little/later on) what should I first? Any good ideas where to go to get new shocks installed?
Thanks axshnjxsn! |
Just about anything will be an improvement over the oem shocks. Most people swear by Bilstiens.
If you have a 4x4 you don't need a leveling kit. All you have to do is crank up the torsion bars and get the front end aligned. |
if you have a 4x4 and plan to lift it down the road- lifts such as fabtech come with shocks front and rear in their lift kit packages, I believe that option is available with Procomp lifts as well.
Either go with Wandell's suggestion on the Blisteins (havent heard many negative reviews on those) or put something new and relatively inexpensive on their temporarily until you lift it later |
bilsteins are the way to go

if you know for sure youre going to lift it within a year or so id just go get some monroe shocks and put them on. theyre a decent shock and a good price. that way you wont spend a lot of money for something youre going to have to replace when you lift.
